Kindermusik Imagine That!
3 through 5 years
45 minute, weekly classes
Tuition and Materials: $69 per month
What your child will experience in Imagine That class:
- Pretend Play. Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, listening, movement and literacy aspects of each class. When based upon a child’s real life experiences, pretend play helps develop language, sensory, motor and cognitive skills.
- Musical Variety and Singing. Activities include a mixture of musical genres and styles and provide a setting for your child to explore his many voices and to use a “singing voice.” Singing helps with memory and recall, physical development, creativity and socialization.
- Moving big and small. No longer learning to walk, your preschooler is more interested in learning from his friends – especially the bigger, gross motor abilities like skipping and hopping. And with frequent musical play each week, he’ll even hone in on those finer, precise motor skills waiting to be worked in his fingers.
- Literacy development. Each class is built on the development of a story, so you’ll hear a lot of talking from preschoolers as they search for the word to say what they mean and try to keep up with their busy minds, emerging wants, needs, likes, and dislikes.
- Social skill growth. Your preschooler is ready to learn alongside a group of other children, and in the safe environment of a Kindermusik class, friendship making, turn taking, empathy, and conflict resolution come shining through.
- Parent Involvement. By providing both a peer group during the first 35 minutes of class, and Family Sharing Time during the last 10 minutes, your child gets a balance of his drive for independence, and the still needed emotional security of having you there. The activities you do together in class and the At Home Materials ensures the learning continues at home with your child’s best teacher – you!
- Toys I Make, Trips I Take
- In our toyshop, your child will become a creator using music and language, while developing sequential storytelling with every imaginary saw, hammer, and nail. While activities within the toyshop theme are centered on a child’s pretend play and imagination, we’ll firmly integrate the learning process by placing a strong musical emphasis on singing, steady beat and ensemble, as well as rhythm and rhythmic patterns. Your child will play and learn about instruments, dance and have fun!
- With the At Home Materials, the learning continues with your child’s best teacher – you!
