Common Questions about the Registration Process
Here’s what you need to know about enrollment and the payment process for our school year Kindermusik registration (exception for Parks and Rec noted below):
Easy
Most of our families enroll on a continual basis. And the enrollment process takes up valuable class time that we’d rather spend playing and making music with you! So, we have school-year enrollment. You only have to register once, and then you are done! This switch cuts down on our administrative costs, which means that we’ve been able to pass the savings on to you by not raising tuition. (And that’s good for everyone!)
Flexible
Our flexibility hasn’t changed. If for any reason you need to withdraw from class, you may do so without penalty at the curriculum change, which takes place mid-January. This is exactly the same process as before. All you need to do is inform us in writing (email works great) before January 15. That way we don’t order you At Home Materials for the next session.
We will confirm your withdrawal via email. You will not be considered withdrawn without our reply to your request. Please contact us by phone at 425.385.3636 if for some reason you do not receive a confirmation within 2 business days.
If your child needs to move up to the next level, just let your teacher know, and we’ll be glad help you with that transition. The most natural time to do this is at the curriculum change, either at the beginning of the semester (or sometimes in the middle of the semester for Village moving to Our Time.) We track the development of all our students, so we’ll likely mention it before you do.
Convenient
Along with our new single enrollment process, we’ve changed the dates of our year, so that all three curricula match the local school year calendar. This means that you’ll be done by the end of May, before the end of year craziness that happens when you’ve got children in preschool or siblings in elementary.
In addition, we’ve switched to unlimited makeups. And we have a dedicated makeup coordinator, Janet, who is efficient and helpful.
Budget Conscious
With a year-long enrollment, we are able to offer a monthly payment plan. Most classes are only $69 a month, and that includes a great set of take home materials. That’s significantly less expensive than other similar classes for children. We never charge registration “fees”. And those other classes don’t have At Home Materials, to continue the fun and learning all week long.
Your credit or debit card is automatically charged each month, so you never have to worry about remembering to pay your tuition. When you receive your registration confirmation email, it will confirm your chosen payment plan and payment dates.
I’m enrolling partway through the year. Do I have to pay for the whole year?
Absolutely not! Your tuition fees will be prorated, so you never pay for classes that have already occurred. As always, we offer sibling discounts as well.
We’re moving sometime before May. Do I have to pay for classes that I can’t attend?
A move out of the area is the exception to our “no refund” rules. Just let us know your move date, and we’ll prorate your tuition accordingly.
I enroll through Redmond or Edmonds Parks and Recreation. How does that change things?
When you enroll through Redmond Parks and Rec, you are enrolling just for one curriculum. (September through December, January through mid-April, or late April through May.) Tuition payments go to Park and Rec, materials fees are due to Studio3Music. Something to remember – you need to re-register for the new session as soon as Parks and Rec registration begins, as your space will become available for new registrants. (And we don’t want that to happen!)
I have other questions…
We’re happy to answer them. Just call us as 425.385.3636, or email Jesikah at jesikah@studio3music.com and she’ll get right back to you.
