Meet Our Teachers

Analiisa Miss Analiisa, Director. Miss Analiisa’s first formal introduction to music was in 6th grade, when she wanted to play the flute in the newly formed 6th grade band. Her father, however, gave her the choice of the two instruments he owned, which were the euphonium, and the valve trombone. She picked the euphonium, which proved fortuitous, because she fell in love with the sound it made. She also discovered that she got to sit in the back of the band, where all the really cute boys played brass and percussion! She attended WWU in Bellingham, with a hiatus to study with the premier Euphonium player in the world back in New York and Washington D.C. With a background in K-12 Music Ed, and a really useful degree in Music Performance, Miss Analiisa moved to Seattle to work at a law firm, having discovered she did not want to be a professional musician in a military band. (Nearly the only paying option for euphonium players.) Since then, she has owned several successful small businesses, and has spent many hours engaging in her passion for writing curriculum and teaching small children and adults alike in a variety of subjects. Miss Analiisa has been married to Karl since 1997, and they have three children whom she homeschools. With the added duties of Owner and Director in 2005, Miss Analiisa is reluctantly taking a break from teaching, but you may see her subbing in the studio.
Beth Miss Beth grew up in sunny Santa Cruz, California. As common to California girls, Miss Beth took countless years of ballet, tap and jazz dance, so that she could try and be ever so graceful as she was running along the beach. While she was running along the beach one summer, she met her future husband Pat, whom she married in 1993. She graduated from U.C. San Diego in 1991 with a degree in Visual Arts. Miss Beth’s musical background includes piano, voice and marimba. Her love of children led her to work as a nanny and preschool teacher. Miss Beth also received Montessori training and became Montessori certified. When she took her son Tyler to a Kindermusik class, the instructor noticed Miss Beth’s innate understanding and love of children, and how they seemed to flock to her wherever she was. Not surprisingly, she became a Kindermusik Educator in 1999. She also has a strong background in curriculum development, which has been invaluable as she trains and mentors new educators at Studio3Music. In the local community, Miss Beth is known by hundreds of parents as someone who creates a safe and nurturing place to bring their children. She is sought after as an expert in child development. Miss Beth became a partner at Studio3Music in 2007.
Allison Miss Allison grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming (that’s why her hair is so messy) where she participated in every musical, and theatrical event that the city had to offer- youth through high school choir, Old Fashioned Melodrama, Shakespeare in the Park, and drama and competitive speech. She graduated from Loretto Heights College in Denver Colorado with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and a minor in Directing and an emphasis in Costume Design. (She figured the more she could do the less tables she’d have to wait on.) After graduating she taught music, theatre and dance at the Denver School for Gifted and Creative Students. Miss Allison also did professional work in Dinner Theatre, and non profit theatre organizations in the Denver area. Then lightning struck and totally changed the course of her life- she was cast as Laurie in Oklahoma! opposite Curly, played by a wonderful young scientist who was dabbling in theatre for the summer. Miss Allison and Michael have been married since 1993, and have three marvelous sons. After moving to Washington she returned to the classroom, this time with preschoolers. Another bolt of lightening stuck when she was asked if she’d ever thought of teaching Kindermusik…She hadn’t, but it didn’t take long for the equation to add up to the job that she’d never dreamed existed – the perfect one! She’s been teaching Kindermusik since 2000. Her flexibility in the classroom to adapt curriculum to the needs of the particular children in class is well known. Miss Allison became a partner at Studio3Music in 2007.
Nancy Miss Nancy was born and raised in a pretty little suburb called Pacific Palisades. Her family tree includes a number of musical members, including a great-grandfather who was head of the violin department at Oberlin Conservatory and made violins, one of them owned by Miss Nancy! His wife was a concert pianist who debuted at Carnegie Hall. Miss Nancy’s father instilled in her a great love of music, and starting off with piano lessons; she picked up violin at age 9 and played in the school orchestra. She began writing her own songs at age 12 and developed a great love of the art of singing/songwriting. She joined every choir she could, and majored in Music Composition at UC Santa Barbara. After graduating, she decided to be daring and adventurous and move to Japan to teach English. A few years later, her son Kei was born and her family temporarily moved to Seattle, where her second child Marina was born. Back in Japan, she continued teaching. She noticed that using music and dance in the lessons not only helped the children learn faster and remember what they learned, but it was a lot of fun! Following her intuition, she wound up back in her beloved Seattle, searching for ways to use her talents and pursue her dreams. Kindermusik provided a perfect solution to what she was looking for! To enrich her teaching career, she took a temporary break from Kindermusik in 2007 to go back to school, and now holds a Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in K-12 music.
Jesikah Miss Jesikah was born in Los Angeles to a hippy, rock ‘n roller, guitarist for a father and a vivacious nurse for a mother – the combination created a beautiful love for both the arts and sciences. Being a savvy business person, Miss Jesikah and her little sister would perform many “lawn concerts” selling tickets for 25¢ to each of the neighbors, singing and dancing to many popular tunes. (Think Thriller, and Girls Just Want to Have Fun) At the age of 10, her family moved to a small historic mining town along the 49er trail in Northern California, where Miss Jesikah performed with an elite children’s competition choir. Her family then moved to rural Monroe, where she fell in love in her sophomore year, eventually marrying her high school sweetheart. Volunteering at the local hospital seeded a love for children in Miss Jesikah’s heart. Although Miss Jesikah absolutely loves singing and music, she has a real passion for science, especially the ocean. “Shark Week” is still a family holiday in her home! When her first son arrived, she became a stay at home mom, and while pregnant with her second, she yearned to share her musical heritage with her children. Miss Jesikah and her oldest son began attending Kindermusik with Miss Beth and instantly fell in love with the program. Discovering a match for all the things she loves, (even the sharks!) she became an Educator.
Miss Anita In her early days, Miss Anita danced with her mommy, bounced in her crib, and sang in the car. Her family moved back to Seattle (where she was born) just in time for her to begin choir, piano lessons, and flute. Although chicken pox nearly prevented her stage debut, she recovered just in time for her performance as the title character in the elementary school production of the musical Annie. Anita continued to play the flute until her high school band director was looking for someone to play bassoon. She built arm muscles carrying the bassoon to private lessons, school band, orchestra, and a community orchestra. In her senior year, Anita sang in choir, danced in the fall musical production, and acted in drama class. Then it was off to college where she majored in Elementary Education, and continued to play her bassoon. Thankfully, this time, all of her lessons, practice rooms, and various ensemble rehearsals she attended were in the same building (less carrying that way!) After college, Miss Anita taught first and second grade for six years. During that time, she met her wonderful husband at church and stopped teaching school to stay home with her two little blond boys. Peter and Alex are now off to school so Miss Anita gets to go back to teaching. She is excited to have plenty of opportunities to sing, dance, and bounce with her Kindermusik classes!
stacey Miss Stacey was born and raised in the cornfields of Decatur, Indiana. At a very young age, she discovered her love for music and singing. She spent lots of time singing duets at church and performing skits for neighborhood picnics with her Grandfather who was her musical inspiration. Once in high school, Miss Stacey was involved in every performance art: show choir, musicals, speech, theatre and band (she was a drummer and drum major). Miss Stacey went to college for choral music education but two years later realized she wanted to pursue opera theatre. She graduated with a degree in vocal performance. Miss Stacey has a passion for being on stage (you’ll see her singing and acting during our Symphony Serenade concerts at the Seattle Symphony), and loves learning the languages for the operas she performs. During her college summers, she was delighted to be the musical director for a Vacation Bible School in her hometown, where she was constantly covered in kisses and hugs from all the children climbing in her lap. When Miss Stacey was introduced to Kindermusik, she realized she could fulfill both her loves – singing and having children climb in her lap to give her kisses and hugs (a scenario not usually found in professional opera), and she was hooked! She and her husband Erik have a son born in October 2007.
Miss Kim Her mom calls her a free spirit, but if you ask Miss Kim she says she’s just a big kid. She dreamt of growing up to be a teacher, then a marine biologist, then a dance teacher, and then a writer. Finally in her junior year of college she settled on Advertising. Maybe mom was right, she is a free spirit! Music and dance have always been part of her life – you should see the pictures of her in a red wig playing Orphan Annie. Miss Kim grew up in the Midwest where she spent years on the city level dance team. After moving to Washington, she was co-captain of her high school dance team. In college, she volunteered her time as a Choreographer & Assistant Dance Coach at the local high school. Miss Kim graduated from Washington State University with a Communications degree and a diverse background in marketing, communications and event planning. After the birth of her daughter, she realized her passion for adding fun and music to her resume when they took their first Village class together at Studio3Music! Miss Kim now brings her knowledge, creativity and love of children’s programming and event coordination to our studio and parents. Miss Kim is married to her fabulous husband and fellow WSU Alumnus, Dave. When she is not teaching, singing, dancing, or working, she and her family are cheering on the Cougs!
Teacher Aaron Teacher Aaron was born and raised in the tiny suburb of Aloha, Oregon in a close knit family, smack in the middle of 23 first cousins. Naturally, Teacher Aaron’s first job was babysitting, which (believe it or not) didn’t seem like work at all. About the same time, he picked up the trombone and joined the middle school band. He fell in love with music and played in several different groups and even switched to Euphonium for marching band. Teacher Aaron told Analiisa it was because they needed more players and it sounded so beautiful (fellow Euphonium players, unite!), but apparently there was some incident that involved his trombone slide and a color guard and a very bad headache… Teacher Aaron always loved Seattle because of its architecture (he wanted to be an architect when he was little), the music scene, and the Mariners. He graduated and enrolled at the UW to become a doctor (no longer wanting to design buildings). He began working at Soundbridge, Seattle Symphony’s Music Discovery Center to help put him through school. It was there he discovered that teaching children was his true calling. So he threw out the stethoscope and picked up the curriculum guide! Last year he taught at a Headstart preschool while also teaching classes at Soundbridge. In addition to teaching Kindermusik, Teacher Aaron can now be found at UW finishing his degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies with a minor in music.
katie Miss Katie didn’t really have a choice about being musical, thanks to a piano teacher mom and a french horn playing dad. Sometime between hearing Mozart in utero and listening to her mom giving piano lessons, she started singing and never stopped. Miss Katie had her first solo in church at the age of 5. It was supposed to be a duet with the worship leader, but she stole the microphone, clearly asserting her future as a performer. Since her childhood, Miss Katie has dabbled with several instruments, and is now most intently focusing on guitar and piano. She began studying classical voice in high school, and followed her dreams to Seattle Pacific University, where she graduated with her BA in vocal performance and a minor in psychology. Miss Katie (also called a “kid magnet”) has loved working with children since early high school, when she taught gymnastics and swimming lessons. She was a nanny during college, and an intern at a church as the “song lady” for the MOPS toddler program, and assisting with the children’s choir. Realizing her impending graduation into the “real world”, and needing to find a job where she could sing and pay her bills, she did some research and discovered Kindermusik. Miss Katie is thrilled and honored to be a part of the Studio3Music family, and looks forward to meeting you in her classroom!
Steph Miss Steph has been singing for as long as she can remember. A native of Chicago, she grew up in a house where someone was always singing, playing an instrument or rocking out to the Beatles. She was involved in musical theater and worked as a both a camp counselor and pre-school teaching assistant where the kids dubbed her, “The Singing Teacher”. After graduating from The University of Kansas, Miss Steph fronted two bands and toured throughout the country. When she got tired of life on the road (and starving) she settled down and worked for an artist management company. Miss Steph then began playing music for children and facilitating children’s songwriting workshops at local schools. Given her love for children, the realization that she liked playing for “little ears” more than “big ears” was not a big surprise. The joy that she felt playing music for children was something she wanted in her everyday life. After receiving her Masters in Elementary Education, Miss Steph taught in the Chicago Public Schools until she and her husband moved to Seattle. Her daughter Giana brought her to Studio3Music, where she fell in love with the concept, curriculum, and the teachers. She is so excited to be part of this wonderful community of music educators and can’t wait sing and play with you and your children.
Anna Miss Anna

Miss Anna’s love for music started early. She grew up in the Kirkland/Woodinville area where her earliest musical memory involved listening to the record, “The Story of Little Tree” over and over on her Fisher Price record player. Then, she & her cousins moved on to choreograph & perform homemade music videos, like Janet Jackson’s “Escapade.” In elementary school, Miss Anna took both piano and flute lessons. But, by 7th grade she realized that her desire was to sing. In Jr. and Sr. High she performed in choirs of all types, including Jazz Choir her senior year. She attended Edmonds Community College on a women’s soccer scholarship, and was selected to perform and tour with the elite jazz group Soundsation. Miss Anna then moved to Eastern Washington University in Cheney to pursue another love – Early Childhood Education, as she loves nothing more than the process of watching children learn. She had a blast with her four-year old Sunday class and led adult worship until she moved back to Seattle. After returning from Cheney, she taught two-year olds and led worship for hundreds of children, including Miss Analiisa’s children, who adore singing with her. Anna is the co-founder and co-director of a children’s worship and dance team now in its eighth year. She & her husband live in Bothell with their cat, Max. Miss Anna can’t wait to sing, play instruments, and learn with you in her classes!

Colleen Miss Colleen

Born into a midwestern farm family, Miss Colleen grew up loving both the world around her and music. Her formal music education began at age five. By middle school, an observant choir director recognized a budding accompanist and Colleen discovered the magic that happens when a group of people comes together to create music. From sixth grade through college, Miss Colleen earned her way as an accompanist. (She even snagged one vocal student as a husband!) She earned a degree in piano performance and then took time off to raise four beautiful children. Along the way Miss Colleen opened a piano studio in San Diego, created a music and art appreciation curriculum for middle school students, and directed children’s choirs and musicals. While earning her degree in “motherhood,” she discovered a passion for mentoring young moms through MOPS and Moms In Touch. All of these loves have come together in Kindermusik where music, children, and young families converge! Miss Colleen’s delight in the world has taken her many places, including her favorite venture where she saw the treasures of the Czars in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her latest adventure included a bossy camel and the pyramids of Egypt. Newly transplanted from Seattle to Los Angeles, she finds shelter from the relentless sun exploring the treasures of The Getty Museum!
