ALL the things in the moon.
Posted in Bits and Pieces, Things to doWhy don’t you go get your child, and together, look at some shapes of things you can see in the moon in the pictures below? It’s still a full moon tonight, so if it is clear where you live, see if you can find them on the moon outside, too.
Then, take a trip to your library and check out some books about the moon. I frequently reserve books online to pick up at our local library. Here are a couple of tried and true picks to get you started: Moon Rabbit, by Natalie Russell, and When the Moon Smiled by Peter Horacek, See You Soon, Moon! by Donna Conrad, and my favorite, Little Night, by Yuya Morales.
- Here is our friend, the man in the moon. I think he looks surprised to see you.
- Here is the woman in the moon. Do you see her profile on the left, and her dark hair on the right?
- Hey, diddle, diddle, the cat and the fiddle, there goes the cow jumping over the moon!
- Here is one of the rabbits that live on the moon. Can you spot his long ear?
- Here is a second bunny who makes his home on the moon.
- Here is a third rabbit, which makes the moon very full!
-posted by Miss Analiisa, who showed 3 year old Natalie the beautiful full moon last night and she declared, “I don’t want a full moon, I want a half moon!”. Natalie’s mommy chooses to hope that fickleness is just a temporary stage…
