my 3 year old daughter loves looking through catalogs and cutting out things she likes. she glues them into a little stapled construction/scrap paper book... and we make up a story to go with the pictures. the cutting improves her dexterity and the story creation for her creativity! and the craft recycles old catalogs and computer paper!

WE have escaped the flu so far (cross fingers) and don't get sick often (knock wood) but when the kids are feeling crummy they like to do stamping and punch work. I have found pre inked stamps from dollar stores and oriental trading company. Ours are easter themed ones but the kids don't care, they just want to stamp. I have also found mini punches and even hole punchers keep the kiddos busy punching holes and shapes. Like Analiisa mentioned, it's really just the process of stamping and punching that they love.
